We sometimes forget that the little things in life are the things that make us the happiest. Sometimes we even forget that we should live each day to its full potential since we only have one chance to live. We get distracted by everyday errands, tv, and social media.
Okay, we can all admit it. Life is not always perfect and it can sometimes be tough. But, all of us still take it for granted. The letter shared below is the perfect example why we should value each day that is given to us to live. We should embrace the gift of life.
To be honest, the last line in the letter brought tears to my eyes and made me look at life from a different perspective. If you like it please share since it truly is amazing.
I’m reading more and dusting less.
I’m sitting in the backyard and enjoying the view without fussing about the weeds in the garden.
Now I am spending more time with my family and friends and I’m spending less time working.
Whenever it’s possible, life should become a pattern of experiences to savor, not to endure.
I’m trying to see these moments now and cherish them.
I’m not ‘saving’ anything anymore.
I put on my good blazer go to the market. My idea is if I look prosperous, I can shell out $28.49 for one tiny bag of groceries.
I’m not saving my good perfume for special occasions, but wearing it to the hardware store and the bank.
‘Someday’ and ‘one of these days’ don’t exist in my vocabulary anymore. If the experience is worth having, I want to have it now.
I don’t know what would other people do if they knew that they wouldn’t be here tomorrow and take the day for granted. Maybe they would call their family and friends. I don’t know. They could even maybe call former friends to apologize and forget about the past. I would like to think that maybe they would go out for a Chinese dinner or whatever their favorite food is. I really don’t know.
It’s about all of those little things that are left undone. That is the only things that would make me angry if I know my hours are limited. I would be angry for all of the letters that I intended to write one of these days, but I never did. Also, I would be really angry that I didn’t tell my husband that I love him so much.
I’m trying very hard not to hold back anything that would add laughter and luster to our lives.
And every morning when I open my eyes, I tell myself that it is unique. Every day, every moment, every breath of air truly is a gift.
I know that maybe life isn’t the party we all hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.”
