It’s known that China produces more than 200 million tons of rice every year and that it’s the most massive rice producer in the entire world mainly because they have their own needs from this industry. Recently, Korean times reported a study which suggested that the Chinese rice that is made of plastic and that it’s highly dangerous for humans.
China sells artificial rice made from plastic which in the end is steamed with rice aroma. This was considered as a taboo topic with no evidence, but the truth is that after many investigations, it was discovered that Chinese rice contains plastic equal to one little plastic bag.
Fortunately, there are some test you can do at home to check what kind of rice you eating and if it’s safe.
These tests are pretty simple to do and will take a few minutes out of your day, but they may bring wonders for your health.
1. THE TEST WITH FIRE
Take a few rice kernels and light them up. If they burn, it means that the rice is fake and made from plastic.
2. THE TEST WITH WATER
Take a glass of water and add a tablespoon of rice. If the rice falls straight to the bottom it means that it’s organic and safe to eat.
3. THE TEST WITH MOLD
Cook a handful of rice in water until it’s done. After that put the rice in a plastic container and leave it in the sun for a week. In this situation, organic rice will become moldy. If it’s stiff then it’s fake.
4. THE PASTEL AND MORTAR TEST
Take a few rice grains and crush them up. Take a closer look at them and if the rice begins to form white powder it means that it’s organic and safe to eat. If it has a yellowish stain it means that it’s fake.
